Basic Life Support (BLS)
This course enables you to act as the ‘first responder’ until professional help arrives. It consists of:
- Assessing scene safety
- Checking for response from the injured/ill person
- Opening their airways
- Checking signs of normal breathing
- If no response and no normal breathing, starting CPR – rescue breaths and chest compressions
- If available, administer electric shock using a defib (AED)
- Continue the CPR and AED use until the professional help arrives or the casualty starts breathing normally
This is a 2-hour course and the fee is £100 (plus travel cost) for up to 30 trainees. Contact us for more details.
